This was one of the best nights of the year, a year which has felt rather uneventful, among other things… (even though I have enjoyed days like my graduation and other milestones). We went to the Steampunk World’s Fair in our Piscataway, NJ, and had an incredible time. I almost didn’t go today, due to a migraine and an overall feeling of “meh”-ness, but I was so glad I got to go. Evan and I took a Bieber-fangirl selfie at the Steam Powered Giraffe show and then hung in the parking lot talking about life. Then we enjoyed the drunken tunes of Voltaire. Splendid.
Nights like tonight make me happy to be here. Nights like tonight make me feel truly fortunate for my wonderful family, my brothers back home in Hamilton, and my new family that I have more recently found. Thanks for the journey, all.

They do good and bad and to classify them as a single group (as news outlets do) I think is counterproductive. They’re a bunch of people all over the world who have varying levels of skills and competence. I think a couple of smart people taking down oppressive regime’s websites and blocking their communication, etc. is entertaining and at least slightly helpful, but when it’s people rallying around a message board and then they, for example, call out the Mexican cartels, it’s just stupid.
They don’t have the backing, financially or physically, to make such claims and end up hurting innocent people (the cartels, if I remember correctly, killed families after the threats, saying, “so prove it,” to the useless Anonymous).
They have their uses and their minor victories, but claiming that they’re one agenda is not always true. It’d be like claiming that all of Tumblr shares the same views. You know I’d be dead before I was grouped into the likes of SJW or people who bicker and bullying others simply because of fandoms, etc. Ha.
